Man United complete Berbatov signing
Manchester United have finally signed Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham for an estimated £30+ million which also includes young striker Frazier Campbell going the other way to Spurs for a season long loan. Probably the longest running transfer saga in the history of the Premier League is finally complete with just minutes left of the transfer window. Despite a late bid by Manchester City, rumored to be around £34million; United have secured the services of the Bulgarian striker just in time before the transfer deadline. Paying £30million was probably a bit too much, but I'm sure Sir Alex knows what hes doing. I mean just look at the deal - Berbatov arrives at United for a medical before United agreed a deal with Spurs. At the same time Manchester City made a £34m bid that WAS accepted by Spurs... yet in the end Berbatov signs for the Reds. As part of the deal, Spurs have agreed not to report United for any wrong doing (not saying that they did anything wrong), plus also let Frazier Campbell go on loan for the season... which I think was a fantastic bit of business. Campbell is a great prospect. He is young and needs experience. I would've hated for him to be sold. Its great for United that he can go there and get experience - especially at this level. All in all, United fans should be pleased. Btw, Robinho moved from Madrid to Manchester City!!! Crazy stuff. Can't wait to read the morning papers tomorrow.
